Each week, The Post sends readers on a blind date. Here’s how it went:
Spring break may be the perfect setting for a lusty hookup for the college set, but can it create the same magic for two singles in the city? Chris, 24, and Chantal, 26, went to the spring-break-themed bar Señor Frog’s in Times Square to find out.
Chris, an aspiring comic from Union City, NJ, says he’s never been on a “real” date, but is ready to put himself on the market after losing more than 120 pounds and gaining a newfound confidence. Chantal is a fashion writer living in Chelsea who’s never been set up with a stranger. She’s a social butterfly who loves running and going to museums.
Will these two newbies break the ice over margaritas and find a connection, or will they both be left in the cold? Read on to find out.

“I go for guys that have their lives together.”
He was wearing a nerdy sweater and has a very bookish look, which I liked. He was polite and easy to chat with, and we talked a lot about his weight-loss story. We’re both really close with our families, but we didn’t have much else in common. I appreciate that he moved to NYC to follow his dreams to become an actor and comic, but I tend to go for guys who are older and have their lives together. I’d definitely hang out with him again, but only as friends.

“She reminds me of Old Hollywood glamour.”
She’s tall like me, which I like. She’s pretty and reminds me of Old Hollywood glamour. We had a lot in common — we’re both New York transplants and we’re close with our [families]. I’m still a little insecure [after my weight loss], but she made me feel comfortable and we even shared entrees — the portions were huge! I asked if she wanted to hang out again, and she said yes. I sent her a friend request on Facebook and she accepted, so I guess we’ll see where it goes from here.
About the venue:
Chris and Chantal sipped cocktails and later sported stylish balloon hats at Señor Frog’s (11 Times Square, senorfrogs.com).
